Everything you need to know about the deals event starting March 20

Amazon announced today that it will hold another sale event at the end of March. “Big Spring Sale” will begin on Wednesday, March 20 and run through Monday, March 25. This is the first time Amazon will host a spring sale like this in the US, having previously held a similar sale event in the UK in 2023. However, unlike Prime Day, the Great Spring Sale will not only feature exclusive discounts for Prime members — shoppers who don’t pay for an annual membership will be able to take advantage of Spring Sale deals.

It’s notable that the Great Spring Sale doesn’t emphasize Prime. In addition to boosting sales more than usual, Amazon Prime Day, which usually takes place in July, and the company’s second Prime Day, which takes place in October, try to entice potential new Prime subscribers to pay so they can get access to exclusive discounts. Given the details of today’s announcement, we’d be hesitant to call the new event a “first day of spring,” because it doesn’t look like the retail giant is taking the same approach this time around. It remains to be seen how many (if any) deep spring sale discounts will be available only to Prime members.

What deals can we expect in Amazon’s Great Spring Sale?

It’s unclear how much the Great Spring Sale will benefit tech deals. Amazon’s announcement mentions several gadgets like Echo devices and Kindles and mentions discounts of up to 40 percent on select electronics. However, Amazon usually offers a lot of fashion-focused deals when winter ends and the first days of spring arrive. The ad calls out deals on “spring fashion, patio furniture, lawn and garden essentials, cleaning and organizing products,” all of which are items we typically see on sale around March-April online.

But we’ll be covering the Great Spring Sale as much as we can to highlight the best tech deals that came out of the event. This will also include discounts that may not be specifically tied to the Great Spring Sale, but are available on Amazon during the same time period.
