MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ Release Confirmed: Powerful Snapdragon Competitor Expected

MediaTek has announced the launch of the Dimensity 9300+ chipset. We have been waiting for the new processor for a long time and finally things are becoming official. This processor generated considerable buzz even before its announcement, with many phones expected to feature its power. It succeeds the Dimensity 9300, a chipset that still holds its position in the market.

The Dimensity 9300 has powered many phones since its arrival. It is aimed at the high-end smartphone segment and managed to give decent competition to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. The Dimensity 9300 powers a number of top-performing phones, as seen in the March AnTuTu rankings. Therefore, our expectations for the Dimensity 9300+ are high.

MediaTek has officially announced that they will launch the new processor at the MediaTek Dimensity developer conference MDDC 2024. The event is scheduled for May 7. The poster also reveals that the processor will focus on AI improvements.

As the name suggests, the new chip will be an improved version of the original processor. Thanks to the GeekBench listing for the Vivo X100s, we know some details about the Dimensity 9300+. The chip features a primary Cortex-X4 core (3.4 GHz), a secondary Cortex-X4 cluster (3 cores at 2.85 GHz), four Cortex-A720 cores (2.0 GHz) and an Arm Immortalis-G720 MP12 GPU (1300 MHz) .

Dimensity 9300+ benchmark results

Phones expected to be powered by the upcoming processor include Vivo X100s, X100s Pro and Redmi K70 Ultra. We also recently covered the AnTuTu benchmark results of Vivo X100s running on Dimensity 9300+. It scores a decent 2,305,607 points on AnTuTu. In comparison, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 has the best score of 2,138,119. In addition, the processor also shined on GeekBench 6.2 with 2,313 points in single-core and 7,743 in multi-core.

The processor is expected to debut with the Vivo X100s phone, which could be announced sometime in May. However, this processor seems to be a strong option that could power many phones in the second half of 2024.
