Oppo Watch X debuts with Wear OS, built-in GPS and stainless steel frame

Oppo already has a large number of smart wearables in its portfolio. There’s also one with Wear OS, one of the most versatile and feature-packed wearable operating systems out there. But the recently unveiled Oppo Watch X is different. With this, the brand takes on the flagship options from Samsung and Google.

But Oppo didn’t stop there. The Watch X also went through 16 MIL-STD-810H tests and passed them all with flying colors. you get IP68 and 5ATM water resistance ratings too. All this makes this Oppo smartwatch an easy choice for adventures in challenging environments.

As mentioned earlier, the Oppo Watch X is a Wear OS smartwatch. This automatically makes the wearable a suitable competitor to the latest Galaxy Watch and Pixel Watch. But having Wear OS is one thing, being able to offer a seamless experience with the operating system is another.

The good news is that Oppo has considered the performance aspect of the Watch X. This new smartwatch comes with a dual-engine architecture that combines the latest Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chipset with the BES2700. I want more? You can put Watch X into power saving mode. This mode offers access to all essential features, such as call and music management, but extends the battery life to 12 days. It can definitely come in handy if you prefer to charge wearables less often.

As for charging, the Oppo Watch X has VOOC Flash Charging. It can offer 1 day of use with just 10 minutes of charging. More interestingly, the charging technology takes the battery from 0 to 100% in just 60 minutes.

Oppo Watch X price and availability

The starting price of the Oppo Watch X is MYR 1399, which is about $295. The smartwatch is currently only available in the Malaysian market, but Oppo should launch it in other regions soon.
