Realme recently launched the 12 Pro and 12 Pro+ smartphones, both of which are upper mid-range phones. Now the company is expanding the range by announcing the non-Pro Realme 12+ 5G. The smartphone has been confirmed to be launched on March 6 in India and will soon be in the Malaysian market.
Although not a Pro device, the Realme 12+ 5G shares some design aspects of its Pro siblings. And for those who missed our coverage of these smartphones, they come with a sleek, luxurious watch-like design on the back. We see something similar for the non-Pro model.
Key highlights of Realme 12+ 5G
With the latest announcement, Realme has confirmed that the smartphone will come with a Sony LYT600 50 MP sensor. This will be one of the three cameras on the back. With OIS, the sensor will make the Realme 12+ capable of capturing detailed and stable images and videos. The sensor can also offer 2x internal sensor zoom, which allows the smartphone to take clear close-up photos.
Gizchina News of the week
According to the company, the Realme 12+ has “the first custom dynamic portrait capture system.” This optimizes shooting speed, offering high-speed continuous shooting of up to 208 images per minute. Basically, although the smartphone is not a ‘Pro’ variant, its camera system is Pro-grade.
As for the other specifications of the Realme 12+, according to a Malaysian retailer listing (connection), the phone will feature the Dimensity 7050 SoC. It’s a mid-range SoC, but the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 in the Realme 12 Pro+ is more capable. However, you should note that the upcoming device is expected to be cheaper than the Pro+ model.
The listing also states that the Realme 12+ will come with a 120Hz FHD+ AMOLED screen, a 5,000mAh battery, and 67W fast charging.
