Over the past few months, we have had a large number of phones from the Realme 12 series. First, the company launched 12 Pro and Pro+; then we saw the launch of 12+. Now the brand has introduced the standard or base model of the series.
Although it is an entry-level device in the Realme 12 series, it is not an entry-level phone. Instead, it’s more of a mid-range device that can handle your day-to-day needs. Aside from the processing power, there are some good aspects that make it offer great value for money.
Key highlights of Realme 12
One of the main highlights of the Realme 12 is the Dimensity 6100+ SoC. It is a mid-range processor that carries two fast ARM Cortex A76 cores and six efficient Cortex A55 cores. Coupled with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, the phone is more than capable of running casual games and moderate gaming.

In terms of storage, the Realme 12 comes with 128GB of inbuilt storage which is expandable with the microSD card slot. The smartphone’s camera setup is also quite capable. It comes with Sensor Samsung ISOCELL HM6 on the back, which is a 108 MP camera that can offer 3x internal sensor zoom. The camera is paired with a 2 MP depth sensor that helps with portrait shots.
On the front, the Realme 12 comes with a 6.72-inch display that offers FHD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The panel can also offer 950 nits of peak brightness, enough for comfortable outdoor viewing. As for the front camera, there is an 8-megapixel selfie camera housed in a punch-hole centered notch.
Another highlight of the Realme 12 is the dynamic button. As you can see from the picture below, it can switch between seven functions and doubles as a fingerprint scanner. Other notable aspects include Realme UI 5, 5000 mAh battery and 45W charging. The starting price is INR 16,999 which is around $205 with two colors available.
