Paula c Slidemania provides FREE Google Slides (and PowerPoint and Canva) templates for you to have slick looking presentations. My supplement Hyperlink slide selector makes it easy to turn your Google Slides into a choice board with links to directions for each choice. However, I had to update the plugin to work with Slidesmania.
It does NOT collect user data. Hyperlink Slides Choice Board is COPPA and FERPA compliant as it does not collect student data at all.
Launch ANY Google Slides
You can start with ANY Google Slides, including the ones you’ve downloaded for free Slidemania.
Content
Design your first slide to be your content. ANY shapes, images, or text boxes that are not in the background will be linked to a new slide. You just have to decide what options you want. Create a text box or shape for this selection and design the whiteboard content as desired.
Hyperlink slide selector
Use the Extensions menu in Google Slides to select “Hyperlink Slides Choice Board”. I’m using the ‘Text in Slides’ option. This will create a new slide for each content item. The text in the text box or shape will be added to the title space of the linked slide. If an item was linked to a slide that you didn’t intend to be selectable, simply delete the slide.
Slidesmania option
If you are using a template from SlidesMania, you will need to select the “With SlidesMania” option instead of “Text on slides”. You will be prompted which layout number you want to use for the linked slides.
If in doubt, choose 2.
First, go to the View menu. Then select “Theme Builder”. This will show you the list of layouts. This is how the slide number is determined. Not always, but often the title layout is layout number 2. This is my default when I’m not sure which number to choose. You can always undo Control Z if the layout was not what you expected.
Publish to the web
When I share choice boards with students, I want the hyperlinks to navigate them around the choice board. I don’t intend for the slides to be viewed in edit mode. Use the File menu to select Share and Publish to the Web. The Publish to Web link activates presentation mode when students view the selection board.

Slidesmania Selection Board Steps
First create Google Slides or download from SlidesMania
Then, on the first slide, design the choices in the individual text boxes.
Third, use the add-on in the Extensions menu.
Fourth, select “With SlidesMania” and enter the number 2 when prompted.
Then design your SlidesMania selection board with the directions for each selection.
Finally, use the File menu to select Share and choose Publish to the Web.
