The fans of Dear Esther, Amnesia: Pig Machine and All go to the Rapture, be sure to mark June 18 on your calendar. On that day you will be able to purchase a copy from Still Wakes the Deep for PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store), Xbox Series X|S and PS5, although you can also play it with Game Pass for Xbox and PC. This is the latest narrative first-person horror game from The Chinese Room, the developer behind the aforementioned titles in the same genre.

Just a warning if the title itself isn’t clear enough: Still Wakes the Deep probably not for you if you have thalassophobia. The action takes place in 1975 and puts you in the place of an offshore oil platform located in the waters of the North Sea. A “terrifying, unrelenting enemy” has appeared on board, and you’ll have to fight for your lives as you help the remnants of your crew survive amid storms and freezing temperatures. “All lines of communication are down. All exits are gone,” the game description says, because horror stories are no fun if you can easily call for help. You won’t have access to weapons either — you’ll have to use your wits and what you find in your environment to face the “unknown horror” and escape the platform entirely.
