vivo Y200e launched with Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 and affordable price

The vivo Y200e made its official debut today, which is an updated model of the standard Y2000 that was launched in October last year. The good news is that vivo has made the successor a bit more affordable than last year’s model.

While the vivo Y200 starts at around $264, the new Y200e has a starting price of around $240. Of course, there’s a reason the base Y200e costs less than the Y200 (more on that later). No matter what, the new phone is a solid mid-range device.

Key highlights of vivo Y200e

As mentioned earlier, the vivo Y200e is a refreshed model of last year’s Y200. The main difference between the two is that the newer phone comes with Snapdragon 4 Gen 2. In comparison, the predecessor contained 4 Gen 1. This makes the Y200e slightly more powerful than last year’s model. But it’s still in the middleweight category.

Now, when it comes to pricing, the base model of vivo Y200e has 6GB of RAM while the base model of Y200 has 8GB of RAM. This is actually the secret behind the slightly lower price. The Y200e has an available option of 8GB of RAM and comes with up to 256GB of storage. If you don’t want to risk smooth performance, I’d recommend going for the higher-end variant.

Talking about smoothness, the vivo Y200e comes with a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate for a smooth and crisp visual experience. As for the cameras, the rear comes with a triple camera setup with a 50MP main unit. On the front, there’s a 16-megapixel selfie camera that sits in a centered punch-hole.

vivo addresses durability concerns with an IP54 rating, something not often seen in mid-range phones. Other highlights of the phone include 2.5D flat front design, Hi-Res audio, 5000 mAh battery with 44W charging and two color options (image attached).
