Microsoft will soon introduce new artificial intelligence (AI) features that will help users who struggle with typing prompts or getting the desired result from its Copilot chatbot all at once. On Wednesday, the tech giant announced that it’s working on several new features, all designed to help improve Copilot’s results. These features include auto-completion, overwriting, and catch-up. It is also working on a Copilot Lab feature that will help organizations get personalized prompts for their specific work needs.

IN blog post made by Microsoft and its subsidiary LinkedIn, the companies highlighted how AI has affected the workplace. The publication shared various reports and statistics highlighting how AI is creating new jobs and pushing professionals to upskill and change jobs to enter the AI space. He also mentions a few new features the tech giant is working on that are aimed at those who struggle with typing prompts.

Explaining the problem, Microsoft said: “For many, looking at this blank prompt box feels like facing a blank page: Where do I even begin? Today, we’re announcing Copilot for Microsoft 365 innovation to help our customers answer that question.”

The first feature is autofill. This feature will allow Copilot to display prompt completion suggestions. For example, if a user types “summarize,” the chatbot will display “last ten emails” and a few other suggestions. The user can then select one of them and quickly get to the result. Another such function is called rewriting. This is aimed at those who struggle to get the desired result in the first iteration and write multiple follow-up prompts to fine-tune Copilot’s response.

Copilot will get a new button to rewrite prompts, and after the user writes a basic description of what they want, it will modify it to add more details, specific instructions, and development to help the AI get the right context. Finally, there is a catch-up feature. It’s a new chat interface that will show users personal insights based on their recent activity. It will also show recommendations. For example, if a meeting is coming up, the chatbot will prompt the user to review the notes. These features will be available to paid Microsoft 365 users in the coming months.
