Motorola to launch something new in India on April 3; It could be the Motorola Edge 50 Pro

Motorola may soon launch a new phone in India. The company announced a launch event in the country, but did not reveal more details. Speculations suggest that we might see the alleged Motorola Edge 50 Pro revealed. However, this model has not yet been officially announced. Notably, the company recently launched two new smartphones in the US – Moto G Power 5G (2024) and Moto G 5G (2024). The India launch of these models is yet to be confirmed.

In a press note titled ‘Save the date’, Motorola India announced the April 3 event where we will “witness the fusion of art and intelligence”. The event is to be held in New Delhi. The memo does not reveal more details, but it is expected to be the launch of a new phone. The company noted that “more details and an official invitation” will follow soon.

The upcoming launch is speculated to be the Motorola Edge 50 Pro. The teaser from the company highlights “art” and “intelligence” in bold. It can be assumed that the envisioned device is expected to include many artificial intelligence (AI)-powered features. Motorola recently introduced the upcoming launch of the Moto X50 Ultra in China as an “AI mobile phone”. This model is expected to be released outside of China as the Motorola Edge 50 Pro.

Details of the Motorola Edge 50 Pro, including its design and color options, have recently leaked. The phone is expected to launch in black, purple and white color options, with the white option boasting a stone-like motif. The variants were seen with triple rear cameras and leatherette finishes. It should be noted that in the leaked renders the phone had the date April 3 on the lock screen. Therefore, it is speculated that the model could be launched on this very day.

The Motorola Edge 50 Pro is believed to be launched in the US as the Motorola Edge+ (2024). It is said to come with a curved 6.7-inch display with a 165Hz refresh rate and a 50-megapixel triple rear camera, which is also likely to include a 13mm wide-angle camera and a 73mm telephoto camera with up to 6x zoom. The handset may be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC coupled with 12GB of RAM. It is expected to have a 4500mAh battery with support for 125W wired and 50W wireless fast charging.
