NVIDIA is testing an app that unifies GeForce Experience and Control Panel

It’s NVIDIA allowing users to adjust GPU settings, install software, and fine-tune gameplay, all from the same place. Currently, you have to access the legacy Control Panel app and do some serious menu diving to do things like configure G-Sync. There’s also a completely separate “user-friendly” app called GeForce Experience for basic GPU settings, driver updates, and quick settings. So this is collapsing two different things into one.

NVIDIA’s aptly named app is only in beta for now, but it seems to do a lot. You can use it to update drivers, detect and install, and perform any GPU tweaks. To further simplify things for PC gamers, you can also use it to fine-tune game settings and driver settings. It’s almost a one-stop shop.

There is a redesigned in-game overlay for easier access to recording and performance monitoring tools. The overlay also allows you to apply various game filters, including those available to GeForce RTX users. The app seems squarely aimed at those who balk at the perceived complexity of PC gaming. You can even use it to redeem bundles and rewards and choose experimental features and new RTX capabilities.

Speaking of new RTX capabilities, the app allows users to easily experiment with this new remixing tool that adds AI-optimized augmented textures to older games. The celebrated Half Life 2 is thanks to this technology. The app will also have access to a new feature called RTX Dynamic Vibrance, which improves visual clarity and enhances the current Digital Vibrance feature found in the current Control Panel app.
