The next budget-oriented POCO C-series smartphone will be launched in India on March 26. The company has just confirmed the release date of the POCO C61. The device has been at the center of multiple leaks over the past few days. These leaks confirmed almost most of the specifications that come with the device. It will come with a new design language, up to 6GB of RAM with virtual 6GB of RAM, a 90Hz refresh rate, and a 5,000mAh battery.

It might sound promising, but we can’t forget that POCO C61 is a low-end smartphone. The addition of a 6GB variant is certainly a great step forward for the range. However, performance will still be modest with the Octa-Core Helio G35 SoC. The POCO C61 shares the same design and specifications as the Redmi A3. As usual for the POCO line, the POCO C61 is a rebranded Redmi A3. The phone will include a 6.71-inch LCD screen with HD+ resolution and a 90 Hz refresh rate.

The phone has seriously cut corners on specs to offer an attractive price. The entry-level variant of the Redmi A3 costs just INR 7,299 ($87) with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It is currently unclear whether the POCO C61 will offer the same variants. However, we do know that there will be a higher model with 6GB of RAM. Also, bank offers in India can bring the price to very attractive levels.
With the POCO C61, the brand will continue its legacy in the low-end smartphone segment. It will offer decent performance for casual app use, social media, and basic gaming. The battery will last and the display will feature decent quality and a smooth 90Hz refresh rate. With the launch scheduled for March 26, we expect POCO to ramp up its marketing campaign over the next few days.
