Sony On Tuesday, Interactive Entertainment said it would lay off about 900 employees in its PlayStation division, or 8% of its global workforce, becoming the latest tech company to announce layoffs.

“After careful consideration and many leadership discussions over several months, it became clear that changes needed to be made to continue to grow the business and grow the company,” the division’s president and CEO Jim Ryan said in an email to employees , published publicly by the company.
