Tecno Pocket Go with AR Glasses, Dynamic 1 Robot Dog Unveiled at MWC 2024: Key Features

Tecno unveiled its AR gaming kit and a robot dog modeled after a German Shepherd at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 in Barcelona. The AR gaming kit called Tecno Pocket Go is claimed to be the world’s first Windows-based AR gaming kit and promises a 6D immersive gaming experience. The robot dog, meanwhile, is called Dynamic 1, and is an AI-powered biomorphic dog that the company claims is “the perfect pet-like companion for the future.”

Powered by AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS processor, Tecno Pocket Go is coming with 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and 1TB PCle 4.0 SSD memory. It is backed by a 50Wh removable battery. Although said to have a large PC-level cooling fan, the wireless console is claimed to be 50 percent smaller and 30 percent lighter than other Windows gaming consoles.

The Pocket Go console is designed to be paired with an AR headset called AR Pocket Vision, according to GSMArena report. The glasses also feature a 0.71-inch micro-OLED screen that is claimed to offer vision support almost equivalent to a 215-inch TV from 6 meters away. It also has adjustable diopter settings up to 600 degrees.

According to the aforementioned report, the Tecno Pocket Go also comes with the Tecno Smart Box which is meant to serve as a central console for controlling games and settings. It will also allow the AR Pocket Vision and Pocket Go Wireless Controller to connect to other Tecno devices and function as a portable workstation.

Tecno too revealed Tecno Dynamic 1 which is an AI robotic dog with a 15,000 mAh battery. It is said to enable a wide range of controls, including smartphones, remote controls and voice commands. The machine is powered by an unspecified octa-core chipset and is equipped with binocular and infrared sensors along with Intel’s Realsense D430 camera. With an output torque of 45Nm/kg, the machine can perform several physical tasks such as climbing and descending stairs, jumping, handshakes and even handstands.

The company has not yet confirmed the launch of these products. Although it is very likely that the Tecno Dynamic 1 will not even be commercialized. It can simply remain as an exercise that proves the company’s technological prowess and R&D progress.
