Files by Google Now lets you scan documents directly into the app
Access to the scanner is easy. Just open the Files by Google app and find the new scan button prominently placed on the home page. Clicking this button launches your device’s camera with a clear frame to guide document placement. The app offers two shooting modes: manual and automatic. Manual capture lets you take the photo yourself, while auto capture detects the document and automatically takes a photo for added convenience.

In addition to capturing single pages, the Files by Google scanner takes care of multi-page documents. You can seamlessly capture multiple pages and organize them into a single PDF file. After capture, editing options are available to fine-tune the scanned document. These options include cropping and rotating for precise framing. Applying filters to improve readability and cleaning function to improve image quality. Once you’re satisfied, you can save the scanned document to a special “Scanned” folder in the Files by Google app. Ensuring that all your scans are organized in a central location.
This functionality complements the existing document scanning feature in the Google Drive app, offering Android users more choice in their preferred workflow.
