Over the past few days, increased solar activity (and those head-scratching geomagnetic storms) have caused the GPS navigation systems that guide some modern tractors from John Deere and other brands to go down. 404 Media reported farmers have been told to stop using high-tech tractors that use GPS systems to program and strictly cultivate their land. The real-time kinematics (RTK) systems on John Deere tractors can apparently seed with precision, down to a centimeter. A bit of GPS noise can throw this off.

Apple’s recently added option for App Store developers to include links to external payment methods isn’t really that appealing. In a hearing Friday as part of its ongoing legal battle with Epic, Apple said only 38 developers had applied to add such links — out of an estimated 65,000 that could. The changes had to satisfy an injunction ordered by U.S. District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers in 2021. According to Bloombergsaid Rogers during the latest hearing: “It sounds to me like the goal was then to maintain the business model and revenue that you had in the past.”
