Accessories brand Ugreen has just released a 12-in-1 MacBook docking station that can extend or mirror up to three external displays at 4K 60Hz.
The M1 MacBook Air and MacBook Pro are fantastic laptops, but they come with two drawbacks. One is the limited I/O (you only get two ports on both models) and the other is the built-in ability to control just one external monitor.
This is where the Ugreen docking station can come to the rescue. Not only does it offer numerous expansion options for connecting external hard drives or printers or for charging devices, the Ugreen docking station allows the user to mirror or extend up to three 4K 60Hz displays simultaneously. Windows users can access the dock’s 8K 30Hz capabilities via one of the supported HDMI ports on the rear.
However, there are a few things to note. First, working with so many external monitors requires users to first install the Displaylink software to ensure that the ports and displays work well together. Second, the dock is not compatible with Apple’s M2 products.
The front of the dock has one SD and Micro SD slot (at 104 MB/s), a 3.5mm audio jack, one USB-A 3.1 (10 Gbps) and one USB-C 3.1 (10 Gbps). On the back there are two 5 Gbps USB-A, one DisplayPort (4K 60Hz), one HDMI (4K 60Hz), one HDMI (8K 30Hz), one Ethernet (1000 Mbps), one USB-C Power Delivery port capable of 100W pass-through charging and one USB-C host port.
The Ugreen 12 in 1 Docking Station is available now Ugreencurrently 30% off.
