Vivo is gearing up to launch the X100 Ultra smartphone. It will be a top-tier phone focused on providing a high-end camera setup. The standard models and the X100 Pro models already have decent cameras and hence the hype is high for the Ultra phone. The Vivo X100 Ultra recently received certifications hinting at an upcoming launch. Now there’s news regarding the phone’s pricing.

Vivo X100 Ultra price and variant rumours

On the Chinese site Weibo, users are discussing the potential price of the Vivo X100 Ultra. A post the X100 Ultra lists various variants with their prices. Note that it is not official as it does not come from Vivo. According to the post, the Vivo X100 Ultra will come in four variants with a starting price of 6,499 yuan (~$915) for the base 12/256B model. The phone also gets a satellite version with a 16/1TB configuration at 7,999 yuan (~$1,127).

Gizchina News of the week

The interesting news is that this post received a comment from Vivo’s product manager Han Boxiao. He was reacting to a comment in which another user compared the prices of the Vivo X100 Ultra with the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. Here, Vivo’s product manager said the X100 Ultra “can’t be cheap”.

This makes sense as the phone gets the Ultra branding, which already hints at top-tier specs. The earlier X100 and X100 Pro used the Dimensity 9300 chipset, but the Vivo X100 Ultra is expected to have Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. We’re also looking forward to a 200MP periscope telephoto along with three more capable sensors. Apart from that, the Ultra phone will also not compromise on the display and battery segments. All of this together can add up to a hefty price tag. That being said, the Vivo X100 Ultra along with the X100s and X100s Pro are expected to be announced in May.
