The end of another week is upon us, which means it’s time for another round of the best deals on some of the tech we’ve tested and recommend. There are still a few discounts from last week’s President’s Day sale, and new savings have popped up, too. If you’re in the market for Apple gadgets, many are seeing decent discounts, including iPad mini, iPad Air and on 15-inch MacBook Air. Multiple Anker charging accessories are on sale, as are some of our favorites Logitech Peripherals. We got an exclusive $30 discount from Thermoworks on their popular ones instant reading thermometerand 8BitDo Famicom inspired keyboard is 20 percent off at Woot. Here are the best deals from this week that you can still get today.

The Xbox Wireless Controller retails for $44 at Amazon and Walmart. That’s $1 more directly than Microsoft and in Best buy. At most retailers, discounts apply to white and black colors. Other colors are also on sale, but not as heavily discounted.

The updated gamepad has the same layout as previous generations, but with more responsive buttons and triggers and smoother joysticks. In addition to the Xbox Series X and S, it also pairs with Windows PCs and Android phones and tablets via Bluetooth. It runs on AA batteries, so you might want to invest in one battery cells or a rechargeable battery.

Thermapen

In an exclusive sale via Engadget, one of our most recommended cooking gadgets is $30 off. The Thermapen One Instant Read Meat Thermometer retails for $79, down from the MSRP of $109. This runs until February 28th or until sold out.

“One” in the name means the time required to obtain readings, i.e. one second. It made our list of the best roasters because we found it fast and accurate with an easy-to-read display. Plus, the display rotates automatically, making it even easier to measure your meat.

Anchor

Dyson

Dyson’s Airwrap is back to its lowest price ever, as long as you’re a Best Buy Plus member. The multistyler retailed for $600, but is now on sale for $480.

Airwrap relies on air instead of extreme heat to dry and style hair – which can help keep your hair healthier than using curling irons, flat irons or blow dryers – and uses a technology called the Coanda effect, a phenomenon describing the tendency of air flow to follow a path on a curved surface. Here, the air stream flows around the barrel of the tool or brush attachment, so it envelops, dries and styles the hair all at once.

The deal only applies to members of Best Buy Plus, a $50-a-year subscription that gets you discounts like this, plus free two-day shipping, kind of like Amazon’s Prime program.

8BitDo

The Famicom inspired version of the 8BitDo’s retro mechanical keyboard retails for $80 at Woot. That’s 20 percent off and the lowest price for the relatively new accessory. The colors match Nintendo’s 8-bit Famicom console and have Japanese characters below the English key markings.

The mechanical board has hot-swappable PCB switches, supports custom keyboard mapping, and connects via Bluetooth or cable. It also comes with two breakable (and programmable) buttons. The sale should run until Thursday, February 29 or until sold out.

The higher capacity model of iPad mini is $120 off and down to an all-time low on Amazon right now. The 256GB model is now $529 instead of $649 for all four colors. The smaller capacity 64GB model for storage also sells for $100 off or $399, but often reaches that price, which is about $20 more than the lowest price it sells for.

We named the Mini the best iPad for one-handed use in our guide to Apple tablets and gave a full review of the slate when it comes out in 2021. With its Liquid Retina design, TouchID top button, second-generation Apple Pencil support and USB -C charging, it’s more of an ultra-portable iPad Air — though we should note that it still uses Apple’s previous A15 Bionic chip, not their newer M-series silicon. It’s also worth noting that new iPads are expected this year, which may have something to do with the discount.

of Apple 15-inch MacBook Air M2 with 256 GB of storage is back at an all-time low price at Best Buy. It’s down to $999 after a $300 rebate, and the deal is valid on Starlight, Midnight, and Silver colors. This matches the lowest price we’ve seen to date. The 512GB model it’s also $300 off, so you might go for the one you’ll need more storage.

We gave the 15-inch MacBook Air a 96 in our review, noting that it’s more than just a bigger version of the 13-inch model. The larger screen finally lets you get the most out of the powerful processors that Apple has packed into its latest Air laptop.

of Apple Second generation pencil retails for $79 at Walmart. That’s not an all-time low, but it represents a 39 percent discount. The stylus is essential for iPad drawing and handwritten notes. The second generation adds features missing from the original, such as magnetic charging on the iPad’s edge. Note that it is only compatible with newer iPad Air, iPad Pro and iPad Mini models, standard iPad requires first generation apple pencil, which is not on sale but also on sale for $79.

Engadget

The base model of the latest generation of iPad Air retails for $449 on Walmart and Amazon. MSRP is $599 but often sells for $499. This sale represents a new low price.

This is the iPad we recommend to most people because it’s fast, has a great screen, and works with current-generation accessories. It’s great for gaming and streaming, but it can also handle productivity tasks when you add a keyboard and mouse.

With the release of the M3 chip, this model that uses the M1 chip is ready for an update that is likely to come this year. Still, if you’re not concerned about having the latest, it’s a good deal for a tablet that should serve you well.

$449 at Walmart

Bose

Bose QuietComfort Wireless Headphones are $100 off at Bose and Amazon. That brings them down to $249, matching their all-time low. The deal applies to all colors, including the standard black and white, but also Cypress Green and Moonstone Blue.

These are the next generation of the QuietComfort 45 headphones, our pick for the best wireless noise-canceling headphones. In addition to the great ANC, they also have comfortable and soft ear cushions with a padded headband. You’ll get 24 hours of use per charge, and the adjustable EQ gives you control over the sound.

The Ultra QuietComfort model is also on sale, with a 12 percent discount that drops them from $429 to $379. We gave them a score of 86 when they came out last October.

of Panasonic S5 II with 85mm f/1.8 prime lens sold on Amazon and B&H Photo Video for the lowest price ever. The kit costs $1,796, a savings of $800 over buying the two individually. This not only gives you a discount on the camera, but also a free lens.

In our review, we noted that the 24-megapixel full-frame mirrorless S5 II is a great value at $2,000. It makes for a great vlogging camera and has a phase detection autofocus system that eliminates jitter and other issues of past models.

The latest from Apple HomePod smart speaker sells for $285 at B&H Photo. It’s not a huge discount or the lowest price ever, but the larger Siri speaker rarely goes on sale, and the deal applies to both the white and black speakers.

The speaker arrived in early 2023 and we gave it an 84 in our review last year. It works well with other Apple devices and services, and we found the sound to be richer than smart speakers from Amazon and Google, but it’s also much more expensive. If all you’re looking for is a smart speaker with good sound quality, you might go for it Sonos Era 100 although this speaker is not sold and only works with Alexa voice assistance. If you prefer to interact with Siri and want full sound, this HomePod deal is a good bet.

If you have an iPhone and need a Bluetooth tracker to track things you might otherwise lose, we recommend Apple’s AirTags. Right now, a four disc pack sold on Amazon for $79 instead of the full price of $99. This is close to the lowest price we’ve seen for them.

They tap into Apple’s insane Find My network, which relies on other iPhones to track the location of each lost AirTag — and the items attached to it.
