Just recently, the news broke that Meizu has exited the smartphone business and will focus more on AI. But we had reports of the Meizu 21 Pro long before that. Today, the company launched one last smartphone before leaving the mobile industry and focusing entirely on another.
As the name suggests, the Meizu 21 Pro is the better version of the standard Meizu 21 launched late last year. It comes with a better display, telephoto camera on the back and longer battery life. The phone is currently available in China with a starting price of CNY 5,000. That’s about $700, and the best option is about $821.
Main highlights of Meizu 21 Pro
On the front, the Meizu 21 Pro comes with a 6.79-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1368 x 3192 pixels. It’s an LTPO panel that can offer up to 1250 nits of peak brightness and a refresh rate between 1 Hz and 120 Hz. In comparison, the non-Pro smartphone has a 6.55-inch FHD+ display.

The display houses a 32MP selfie camera, which is the same as the non-Pro model. On the back, the Meizu 21 Pro comes with a 50 MP primary camera. Meizu combines it with a 10 MP telephoto camera that can offer 3x optical zoom and 30x digital zoom. This sensor is new for the Pro variant. The back also has a 13 MP ultra-wide and ToF depth sensor to offer better autofocus.
Under the hood, the Meizu 21 Pro comes with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. It is paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. As for the battery, the phone packs a 5,050mAh cell, which is 250mAh more than the non-Pro device. It also supports 50W wireless charging and 80W wired charging. Finally, the 21 Pro has IP68while the layman had an IP54 rating.
Four color options are available: green, blue, white and black. Open sales of the phone begin on March 2.
