Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro, new Redmi phone, iQOO Z9 series will feature Snapdragon 8s Gen 3

Qualcomm just now introduced the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 promising improvements and AI integration. This is the latest improvement for Qualcomm’s flagship chipset series. The new flagship SoC is expected to be available in a host of new premium smartphones. Qualcomm confirmed Honor, iQOO, Realme, Redmi and Xiaomi will be the first OEMs to accept the new chip in their smartphones.

At its event in China, Qualcomm confirmed that the new Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 will offer 20% faster processor performance and 15% higher power efficiency than previous generations. Right after the event, the first OEMs started confirming that they have smartphones with the new chipset that will be revealed soon.

Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro and a new Redmi smartphone

Xiaomi has confirmed that it is working with Qualcomm for the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro. The device will come with Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. This is a major upgrade for the series as Xiaomi Civi 3 had Dimensity 8200 Ultra which is an intermediate chipset.

Xiaomi’s second device with this chipset will be a new phone from the Redmi series. This is not the Redmi Note 13 Turbo as previously rumored. The company said it will be used in the mid-range for the first time. This will change the mid-range performance landscape. We’re curious to see which mid-range phone this will be, but it’s been a while since we’ve seen a Redmi mid-range phone carrying a Snapdragon 8 / 800 series chipset.

iQOO Z9 series and Realme GT Neo6

Apart from Xiaomi, iQOO has also decided to spill the beans and confirm its iQOO Z9 series. It will be among the first devices with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. The first Z9 series phone with this chipset is expected to arrive in April. Rumors suggest it will arrive as the iQOO Z9 Turbo. Realme is also rumored to launch its Realme GT Neo6 with Snapdragon 8s Gen 3.

Honor is also among the companies mentioned by Qualcomm. The brand has not yet confirmed which device will feature the new chipset.
